Our pergolas are equipped with an advanced self-drainage system designed to expertly manage rainwater, ensuring your outdoor comfort is uninterrupted, no matter the weather. This sophisticated system, a hallmark of innovation available in select models from specialized companies like ours, provides a seamless solution to rainwater management without compromising the pergola's aesthetic or structural integrity.

Here's how it works:

1. Integrated Louvers: When rain begins, the louvers can be adjusted to a closed position. As rainwater falls onto the pergolas, the specially designed louvers channel water away, preventing it from pooling on the surface.

2. Water Channeling Beams: The water collected by the louvers is then directed towards the perimeter of the structure, into dedicated beams designed to further channel the water. These beams act as conduits, efficiently guiding the water towards the pergola's posts.

3. Downward Through the Posts: Each post in our pergola design incorporates internal channels that safely guide rainwater downwards. This ensures that the structure's integrity and the comfort of those beneath the pergola are maintained, even during heavy rainfall.

4. Drain Holes: At the bottom of each post, strategically placed drain holes allow the channeled water to exit the structure, preventing any accumulation within the posts themselves. This crucial feature ensures that the pergola remains weight-stable and eliminates the risk of water damage over time.

We recommend that during the winter months, to manage the accumulation of heavy snow (specifically in weeks where snowfall exceeds 50cm), the louvers should be periodically adjusted to an upright position at least once a week. Despite the system's robust construction, featuring double-layered aluminum capable of supporting a snow load of up to 120kg/m^2 when the louvers are closed (note that the louvers can open to 120 degrees and also fully close electronically, laying flat), this precaution is advised.
